North Huish Shock Box

This defibrillator was purchased by North Huish Parish Council, with funding from Devon County Council, South Hams District Council and Mr and Mrs Rosson.

The defibrillator was supplied and installed by the Community Heartbeat Trust.

The telephone box is a ‘jubilee kiosk’, offered by the GPO to every town and village with a Post Office in 1937 to celebrate George V’s silver jubilee – although we don’t know when North Huish’s box (Gara Bridge 240) was installed.

NHPC adopted the telephone box in North Huish in 2021 (and rent the land on which it stands) in order to provide a site for this defibrillator.
